The reason that pigs are the enemies of the Angry Birds is due to a historical accident. When the first Angry Birds games were developed, the swine flu was a major health problem. So, the game creators decided to make swine (pigs) the villains.
As of this writing, there are 18 video games in the Angry Birds video game series. However, that is sure to grow to many multiples of that number.
Sony Pictures Imageworks released a 3D computer-animated feature film, "The Angry Birds Movie," on 20 May 2016.
In "The Angry Birds Movie," the characters speak and do other things that humans do. This is known as anthropomorphism.
The sequel, "The Angry Birds Movie 2," was scheduled for release on the tenth anniversary of the original video game in 2019. The date is 14 August 2019.
