President Trump has been controversial in many ways. There has been a "Resistance" to his policies. However, despite that, he experienced great success with the economy and in foreign affairs.



Before becoming President, Donald Trump was a successful New York businessman. He owned a lot of real estate around the world, primarily in New York but including places like San Francisco and Scotland.



Donald Trump had never run for office before running for President and winning. Thus, he never has lost a political race.

Besides being a successful businessman, Donald Trump also acted occasionally. He was in "Home Alone 2," for instance.



Donald Trump also had his own reality television show, "The Apprentice." It was on for a dozen years and was one of the most successful reality television shows ever.



Among President Trump's new initiatives is the "Space Force." This is a new branch of the military that will safeguard United States interests in outer space.



President Trump was elected along with Vice President Mike Pence. Pence was the governor of Indiana.



Donald Trump's wife, Melania, was born in Slovenia. At that time, Slovenia was part of the Soviet Union. Because of her great beauty, Melania quickly escaped to Milan, Italy and Paris, France, which are fashion capitals. She later went to New York City to live.



Donald Trump has a large family. Ivanka Trump, his daughter with Ivana Trump, has become a big star and a role model for many young women.



Among Donald Trump's domestic successes are a low unemployment rate and a strong GDP.



In foreign affairs, President Trump has attempted to remove nuclear weapons from the Korean Peninsula and bring peace to that region.



President Trump has homes around the country. These include properties in New Jersey and Florida, where he often visits as President.



One of President Trump's goals is to build a wall along the southern border of the United States. Many of his supporters feel that this will prevent illegal immigration to the United States.



President Trump also has made trade policy a key issue. He has renegotiated trade deals with Mexico, Canada, and other countries.



The reason that President Trump is worried about trade policy is that he feels that poor trade policies with other countries cost Americans jobs. By revising trade policies, President Trump hopes to bring jobs into the United States.



Immigration policy also is a key issue for President Trump. He feels that United States policies are too lenient in how illegal immigrants are treated. Revising those policies would enable the United States government to keep violent people from coming into the United States and becoming permanent residents.



The investing community, by and large, has approved of President Trump's policies. This is evidenced by good returns for stocks.



Some others have not been as pleased with President Trump because they feel his policies are too harsh. This has held up some of President Trump's policies from becoming law. Policy disagreements are part of the American way.



Still, the President has great power. He can enact a lot of policies without needing congressional approval. President Trump has reversed many policies of his predecessors and tried to streamline regulations. Many in the business world feel that President Trump's policies help their businesses, but others worry that this removes some important protections in areas such as environmental protection. There is always a balance that must be struck between economic freedom and government control.



President Trump also is a strong supporter of the military. He made upgrading the military a key campaign process. One of President Trump's reforms was getting the military a pay increase for the first time in many years.



President Trump also has met with many world leaders. This includes the Pope and the leaders of England, France, Japan, China, Saudi Arabia, and Russia.

President Trump also moved the United States Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. This was controversial but widely applauded in Israel.



Not every foreign nation has been pleased with President Trump. Iran, for instance, was unhappy that President Trump ended a treaty with them covering nuclear weapons. President Trump felt that it was a bad deal and needed to be improved. The Iranians, however, were happy with the deal and tried to reinstate it.



Some felt that Russia helped President Trump win his election in 2016. A lengthy investigation was conducted to see if Russia interfered in the election. However, President Trump had an amicable meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland.

It was quite an accomplishment for Melania to go from being a child model in a communist nation to the wife of the leader of the Free World.



Melania speaks many languages and is a great asset to President Trump overseas.



President Trump is famous for his raucous rallies. He has the ability to fill large arenas all by himself.



Unfortunately, available arenas often aren't big enough to handle all the crowds that want to see the President. Thus, many people have to stand outside the arenas and watch the rallies on big screens.



It is fair to say that President Trump is one of the most famous people in the world, not just the United States.

As he usually does, President Trump generated both widespread demonstrations of support in Britain and also many demonstrations there when he visited in 2018. The Queen was very gracious and spent a lot of time with President Trump.



President Trump was the first President to meet with the leader of North Korea. He met Kim Jong-un in Singapore.



The meeting with Kim Jong-un was controversial. Some felt that it was inappropriate to meet with the North Korean leader because it legitimized him internationally. Others, however, felt that any effort to denuclearize North Korea was worth it.



President Trump's meeting with Russian President Putin also was controversial. The two men got on well together and this diminished international tensions.



Some, however, felt that President Trump should have been harsher with President Putin because of some of the things that Russia has done, such as annexing the Crimea and meddling in the United States elections.



Melania is famous for the fashions that she wears. As a former model, Melania knows how to carry herself and show off clothing to its best advantage.



Sometimes, however, Melania's fashion choices have been controversial. People scrutinize her for what she wears. Wearing a pith helmet in Africa, for instance, caused a controversy. Melania, however, did not have any problems during her visit to Africa and was well-received by leaders there.



One thing is for certain: Donald Trump generates a lot of attention.



President Trump revels in the attention and appears in public many times every week.



Many people also closely follow President Trump's Twitter page at @realDonaldTrump. This Twitter page offers President Trump a direct connection to both his supporters and his detractors.



Some people have warned President Trump not to post so much on Twitter because some of his posts offend people. However, Trump appears to enjoy posting on Twitter despite the controversy.



President Trump has battled many elements of the media who have not been favorable to him. He calls them the "fake news."



The term "fake news" was created by others who used it to apply to outlets that may not be entirely truthful about facts and are partisan.



Love him or hate him, Donald Trump is the 45th President of the United States and part of the long line that extends back to George Washington.
