Winnie-the-Pooh, also called Pooh Bear, is a fictional anthropomorphic bear created by A. A. Milne and the favorite of children around the world.
Milne came up with the character in the 1920s, and Pooh has only grown in popularity. The Pooh books have been translated into numerous languages, there are animated shorts and feature films devoted to him, even the old USSR developed animations featuring Winnie the Pooh. He has been voiced by Sterling Holloway, Hal Smith, and Jim Cummings in English and Yevgeny Leonov in Russian.
Pooh's friends include Christopher Robin, Owl, Rabbit, Gopher, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore and others.
Disney has released numerous Pooh productions, including The Tigger Movie, Piglet's Big Movie, Pooh's Heffalump Movie, and Winnie the Pooh. That is in addition to theatrical featurettes, television series, and direct-to-video films.
Winnie the Pooh is sure to remain a popular children's character for many years to come.
